Sarah Palin, when asked whether she had ever questioned her readiness to be the nation's VP, responded that she had not, because, "You can't blink."

According to Palin, you also "can't blink" when making decisions about when and where to fight terrorism.

This ny times editorial makes the point that this "don't blink, just invade" attitude was exactly what caused the Bush administration to go to a war on a hunch, with a nation that turned out to have no connection whatsoever to 9/11.

As a leader of the country, you CAN blink, and in fact, it's your duty. To blink, to think, to question, and to consider the possible consequences of your decisions on every American, as well as the people of other nations, who didn't have a choice as to who the president of the USA would be.

The McCain/Palin philosophy that thinking is for sissies and that real leaders go with their gut reminds me an awful lot of the last 8 years.
