Sometimes when my to-do list is longer than I can comprehend and full of too many daunting tasks, I reach a point where I just decide to bake an apple cake or make a puppet. Raphael (one of the kids I babysit) is turning four while I'm in New Zealand, so I gave him an early birthday present today... a superman puppet that I made out of felt. I think he liked it, even though he begged me to make a batman one next.
Four more days til fly to NZ and leave behind boots and coats and multiple layers of woolly socks (as well as all my dear plants... hope the subletters take good care of them!) I'm so excited- but have way too much to get done. Tonight I have a rehearsal for "classical revolution"- a bunch of young musicians who play for fun in a bar every sunday night. Before I fly I also have two more orchestra rehearsals, a lesson, and a fancy dinner at the home of my "host family" who sponsor me at Curtis. Then....finally... it will be bathing suit time!
